When not to use

Avoid all of these when the request is genuinely optional and you have already asked twice. At that point another polite closing adds pressure rather than removing it. Say what happens if they cannot help — "if you don't get to it, I'll go ahead with the current draft" — which releases them and usually gets a faster reply than any softer phrasing would.
